The 163rd "Blacksnakes" has a rich history, dating back to WWII and the D-Day invasion. The 163rd is the premier Air to Ground and SEAD package for Task Force Trident. The 163rd Fighter Squadron is a unit of the Indiana Air National Guard's 122nd Fighter Wing, located at Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base, Indiana. The 163rd within TFT operates both the F-16C Viper and the A-10CII. The Blacksnakes have been a staple of Task Force Trident since the beginning of 2026, having been rotated in to take the place of the 14th Fighter Squadron, "Ronin". Although primarily focused with SEAD, the 14th FS has excelled in all areas to include combat air patrol (CAP), close air support (CAS) and air interdiction.
The 163rd FS is an essential part of Task Force Trident, playing a crucial role in the highly coordinated mission space week in and week out. The Blacksnakes have a competitive and supportive environment where continuous growth towards excellence is pushed for by all members. If you're looking for the Jack of All Trades squadron that will truly test your abilities as a virtual combat pilot across all mission types, lets fly! "Always Ready, Always There"
